You may remember my love letter to Plover Organic awhile back? Well now they’ve given me even more reason to be a Plover lover.  I just got word that Plover Organic is gearing up for a HUGE Online SALE! Is there a rule on how long you should live with the same dinnerware before replacing it?  We’ve been rocking the PB Sausalito dinnerware since we got married eight years ago and it’s beginning to look a bit tired and dated.  This gorgeous Oyyo Petal Series hand-painted porcelain dinnerware by Maria Lintott for Teroforma is on my radar as a potential replacement. I’m sure if I looked hard enough I would find that eight years is the perfect time to replace your dinnerware, right?

We are very close to closing on our house in Mill Valley. Frankly owning a home in California brought a lot more hassle than happiness so I will be glad to end that chapter.  We learned a valuable lesson in home ownership…never buy a home as an investment. Instead buy a home you love.

These flashy retro wallpapers from Kreme already have me thinking about decorating our next home.  And these interiors from Wary Meyers have me fantasizing about going really mod in this imaginary home.  Alas, it will be awhile before we have enough money saved to buy again but there is no doubt that I will go bold with the design!

I am so attracted to the sereneness of these rooms which I spotted on the cover of House Beautiful this month.  The natural washed wood walls and floors, those big cushy sofas, the soft pastels and especially those gorgeous color-block paintings by Leora Armstrong all make me go ahhhh.

This post is dedicated to the readers of The Official Preppy Handbook, wearers of Lily Pulitzer and dwellers of Palm Beach, FL.  This kitchy tennis wallpaper from UK based interior design firm Turner and Pocock is the perfect design for the model preppy family room. Bunny Turner (a totally preppy name that I love by the way) and Emma Pocock were inspired by the portfolio of designer Catherine Cazalet and joining forces with her they created this line of graphic wallpapers. Better late than never I say! The folks behind Infinity Art Gallery wrote to me back in 2007 about their line of earth friendly clocks and asked me to share their designs with you. Well it’s taken Miss Scatterbrain almost three years but here you go! The handcrafted clocks are made with sustainable design fiberboard (SDF) which is formaldahyde free and 100% recycled wood fiber. Then using milk paints from The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company, the most durable, long lasting paints available, they paint unique designs on their one-of-a-kind art clocks!

So for you antique collectors, I’m warning you in advance, you might lose yourself for days in this website.  The folks behind Modern 50 search the universe for decorative artifacts, furnishings and lots of random bits of 20th century design which is then added into their ever revolving antique collection.  I spent about 2 hours surfing their wares and came up with a nice selection of items I’d add to my antiques collection and this doesn’t even include anything from their amazing furniture collection! Once again I’m shamelessly plugging two of my favorite Swedish Frillows – FromSthlm and Polarn O. Pyret – but I feel it’s my duty to keep you informed of cute items and great sales.  I’m loving these cutting boards from the latest featured designer at FromSthlm, Mrs. Murphy. These patterns are inspired by the traditional folk patterns seen on winter mittens from Mrs. Murphy’s hometown Mora, Sweden. Use them as a cutting board, I think they’re way too pretty to risk cutting up, or use as a serving tray.  I’d load mine with homemade marshmallows and yummy hot chocolate, and when you’re finished hang them on the wall until you’re ready to use again!
