How great are these bags from Flowie? I love the hand-dyed prints and the shape of the bags and of course the price – $66.  All of these designs are made with love in the Bay Area by textile designer Yaling Hou.  She also has a line of home accessories and gorgeous fabrics of her original designs perfect for your own home decorating projects.  See more from Yaling here.

93955_back

I so wish the hubs and I had the time and money to go on a tropical vacation before the little bambino arrives in January. It doesn’t help matters that we went to see the movie Couples Retreat this weekend (mediocre at best) and I had to watch visions of Bora Bora cover the screen for 90 minutes while I salivated.  Lucky for me I am a big daydreamer and so I will include these bright boho chic handbags from Elliot Mann into my dreams of a trip to Tahiti someday.  Each of these one-of-a-kind handbags are constructed from vintage remnants of 100% cotton and handwoven fabrics from around the world. Adjustable handles made from genuine braided leather and riveted with added reinforcements complete the designs.  They are the perfect bag for any trip around the world, or a trip to Babies R Us, whatever floats your boat.

when in doubt, draw flowers

drawflowers

When in doubt, draw flowers! When I’m in doubt I usually climb back into bed and hit snooze five more times, but I think drawing flowers is probably a much more positive and productive thing to do.  That’s why I love this Florence, Italy-based shop called “When in Doubt Draw Flowers“. Using retro wallpapers, WINDDF makes a whole bunch of cute products from jewelry to my personal favorite, lampshades.  Lucky for us they have an Etsy shoppe so you don’t have to wait for a trip to Florence to purchase, though that would certainly be worth getting out of bed for!

Every girl needs to have a LBD (little black dress) in her closet so why not also have the equivalent in a bag? That’s the idea behind the simple classic shapes of LA Black Bags.  Of course these bags come in high quality fabric and colorful vintage patterns that can spice up that LBD or anything else in your closet for that matter.  There are four LA Black Bag styles to choose from. That’s the easy part, now good luck choosing which pattern is your favorite!

ketase6

Happy Friday Frillows! Fridays are always a little better when the sun is shining and when I have something fabulous to giveaway! The talented Karen Park behind the Etsy shop Dari is generously giving away this Ketase Bag.   This slouchy hobo bag is made from an African wax print. The fabric came from Zambia and is printed using a unique mechanical process developed to imitate handmade Indonesian batik. The technique is now used exclusively to produce African wax print fabrics. The result is a hardy fabric with a cool waxy, textured sheen. Thanks Karen for all of this great information about your bag.

In order for one lucky person to win you’ll have to dig deep to answer the following question: “What is the most exotic place in the world you would like to travel and what supplies would you carry in the bag to get you through?” You have until Tuesday June 23, 2009 to answer!

nelle bags

I’m in love with these lady-like clutch bags by Minneapolis based Nelle.  The handmade envelope style bags are made with silk charmeuse, hand dyed silk ribbons and silk organza flowers.  The attention to detail makes these a memorable gift idea for a bridemaid or for the bride.  Take a look at Nelle’s online shop to custom order any of her bags and choose from fifteen different colors for her cherub clutch (above) or five colorways for her garden clutch (below).
