Designer Corey Michelle creates one of a kind jewelry by mixing new and vintage pieces inspired by her world travels. She got her start by literally selling one of her necklaces right off of her neck! You gotta love an enterprising girl who can turn her hobby into a successful biz all out of her apartment in NYC. I am obsessed with the chain link ring above and the Autumn cuff below. You can view her complete collection on her website and purchase through her Etsy site here. P.S. She is offering 10% if you mention you saw her on Little Willow, just send her an email: info at coreymichelledesigns dot com.

I love, love, love Molly Hatch ceramics! I almost bought a vase of hers for a friend but couldn’t do it because I knew if I did I wouldn’t be able to part with it. Bad friend, bad! She is on my wish list for Christmas this year. If you’d like to add her to your wish list, a few of her pieces can be found at Lola in Berkeley, CA, Schaller Gallery in Red Lodge, MT and she has an Etsy site where you can purchase her drawings.

Bud.

I can’t get enough of these Moroccan inspired ceramic bud vases from Cynthia Vardhan. I love the unique shapes, the layers of pattern and the alternating colors. I would love a whole collection of them on my mantel with a different color peony in each one!

Man oh man have I been tired! The hubs went to Tokyo last week for work and for some reason I thought I’d be able to catch up on all the sleep I lost once he returned. Alas there is no such thing as “catching up on sleep” once you have a baby. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Thankfully, these fun prints from photographer Jeff Friesen landed in my inbox yesterday and dragged me out of my blurry eyed state. Based in chilly Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jeff started photographing these interior animal dioramas as a way to pass the time spent indoors during the long winters. Using his young daughters toys and other random things lying around his apartment he’s created these amusing scenes of animals complete with witty descriptions…read “Stripes” for a laugh. You can purchase these prints from his Etsy shop Wild Life Prints and check out his mesmerizing professional photography on his website.

Spring.

Today while I was out walking, I saw purple and yellow crocuses sprouting up all over the neighborhood. It might still be a little early but I’m going to go out on a limb and say Spring is here! This cheery artwork from Ish & Chi is made with the very Spring-like fabric of Amy Butler and Heather Bailey. See more of these beautiful creations here.

I have to admit I was a little weepy on New Years Eve this year. You see, after spending every New Years Eve for past fourteen years as a duo, the hubs and I are about to become a trio. As we prepare for our family portrait to change I think it’s important to take a moment and appreciate how blessed we’ve been to share so much time together just the two of us, even as we excitedly plan for our little one. So when my friend Molly sent me these darling prints by Melissa Bryant I thought, what a sweet way to commemorate our expanding family! Melissa’s prints of chair families are so imaginative and with my love of chair re-upholstering and interior collages I pretty much have to have one. Melissa accepts custom orders for her chair family portraits and pet portraits as well. I’ll have to incorporate our cats George and Shrimp into my custom portrait as well because after all they are members of this family too!

One of my readers Mia turned me on to Courtney Kaye’s beautiful accessories, thanks Mia! Courtney Kaye began her life in-style as a model but quickly realized her talents were better suited for jewelry design. After studying at the FIDM in LA and interning with the fabulous Alexis Bittar she launched Courtney Kaye Design in 2009. Her gem encrusted headbands have a real art deco feel that would make the perfect accessory to your Blair Waldorf inspired outfit or any classic, tailored outfit for that matter. Courtney’s entire line is very romantic and feminine. I am in love with the long tassel necklace with rutilated quartz and the matching smoky lantern earrings. Make sure to add Courtney to your Etsy favorites, she’s one to watch!

These sweet little necklaces from LuLu Bug put a smile on my face this morning. I have been an apple eating machine lately. I’ve especially liked green apples which I’d never liked before (except in an apple pie of course), so that green apple necklace has my name on it. The designer Sue Urquhart makes each necklace by hand using silver and concrete. Who knew concrete was capable of something so pretty?! She is clearly on an Autumn inspired kick right now and I love it! Visit her Etsy shop to see more flora and fauna necklaces.
