Villarreal Ceramics

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

I spotted these lovelies from Villarreal Ceramics on Neawear.  Vanessa Villarreal is a community arts teacher (yay teachers!) in Tuscon, AZ. I’m guessing her desert surroundings influence her use of feathers and llamas on her pieces.  Her designs are so pretty.  See more plates, bowls and cups from Vanessa on her Etsy shop.

Screamy Mimi

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

For Grady’s nursery I went with a bold color on the walls and softer accessories like the black and white animal card mobile from Wee Gallery.  This time around I’m going with a soft grey on the wall and colorful accessories like those found on this brilliant mobile.  Screamy Mimi (try to say that name 10x’s fast) crocheted this fantastic mobile for her daughters nursery. I love how she crafted it to be as visually stunning from below as it is from the side.   She will customize a mobile to your color specifications through her Etsy shop.  Can’t wait to see my finished mobile!

I love this happy pottery from Kelim Pottery out of Israel.  The simple shapes and sunny colors make these a great gift idea. Not to mention most of the items are $40 and under.  See more from Kelim Pottery on Etsy.

Sometimes I am simply amazed by all of the creative people in the world.  I love how the world wide web makes it so easy to find such talent like Barcelona based artist Judy Kaufmann. Spotted on my favorite blog Mint, I can’t get enough of her graphic prints, especially her “famous prints”.

I don’t have any wall space left for one of her magnificent prints but I do have an iPhone in need of a cover. Judy makes iPhone cases, iPad and laptop skins, t-shirts and hoodies available online through Society6.  You can purchase Judy’s prints on her Etsy shop.

devon baer

The hubs and I just booked our first trip to the Caribbean in May and I can hardly wait! Which means I am already packing my bags in my mind and imagining filling it with these beachy looks from NYC designer Devon Baer.  She has an Etsy shop filled with her collection of preppy tunics, belts and jewelry. See more from Devon here.

I first heard about Devon in the Australian edition of Ivy & Piper magazine.  Subscribe to their online edition here.

the pink pagoda

Aren’t these colorful and strong graphic prints from The Pink Pagoda so much fun? Dallas based Jennifer is a graphic designer and a lover of Chinoiserie.  I think a quartet of these prints would look so sweet framed in a little girls room. If you order over $50 from Jennifer’s Etsy shop she’ll include a cute Pink Pagoda T-shirt for free! See more here.

pillow talk

Monday, November 15th, 2010

For the past two years I’ve noticed that it’s nearly impossible to open a design magazine without seeing colorful suzani or ikat pillows jazzing up a sofa or bed.  Since I’ve been in a redesigning mood lately but lacking the funds for a big change I’ve become addicted to these pillows as a way to spice up my decor.  I was happy to find so many Etsy shops selling these pillows using everything from designer fabrics to vintage textiles to make affordable pillows for the home. Check out these shops for more designs: Turquoise TumbleweedElegant Touch, Be Still, Chic Decor Pillows and Trendy Pillows.

tickled pink knits

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

This has been the most amazing Indian summer in SLC! It’s been blue skies and mid-60′s everyday. Which is only making me dread the long cold winter that’s to come.  Luckily there are these soft and snugly neck warmer/scarves from Tickled Pink Knits to make the winter bearable.  I really like the variety of chunky shapes, Autumn colors and cozy materials New York based designer Elena users in her knits. Elena has a big selection of her knits to choose from at this Etsy shop and that Etsy shop.  And for your DIY’ers she offers patterns of her most popular designs here.
