sf bazaar bizarre

It’s coming! The Bazaar Bizarre will be back in San Francisco on Sunday November 30th from 10:00am-5:00pm at the San Francisco County Fair building in Golden Gate Park. Both Haley and I completed all of our Christmas shopping at the BB last year, sadly I’ll miss it this year but you shouldn’t! Check out some of these fine vendors who will be showcasing their wears at this years show. Thanks Shamila for the heads up! Follow the links below to purchase online if you aren’t a local either.

blair waldorf cloche hat

Did anyone see Gossip Girl on Monday night? I died over that hat Blair was wearing! Who even wears hats like that anymore? Apparently it was an updated version of the 1920’s cloche hat by Coach and I thought it looked adorable on her, but I might be alone on this one. A quick Etsy search led me to the shop of milliner Terry Graziano and her cloche hat designs. I have no idea where I would wear one of these but now that I live in a place where I need to keep my head warm 6 months out of the year, I think it is imperative that I have one. Available here.

alexander henry fabrics

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

I have been a fan of Alexander Henry fabric ever since I first saw them on ReproDepot a few years ago and bought the Mocca pattern, which I have yet to use for a crafty project. So I was happy to see a bunch of Etsy sellers are using these whimsical and bright fabrics for their crafty projects. Here is a little selection for you to enjoy!

mom’s loose change

Fancy schmancy metallic leather change purses from Anya Hindmarch for Mother’s Day. With sayings like “Mom’s Money” and “Mom’s Bits & Bobs” or you can create your own custom message. My Mom is one of the few people I know who still saves all of her receipts and uses them to balance her checkbook every week. She could use one of these glamorous purses to help keep her receipts from getting lost in the depths of her purse (like mother, like daughter). £78.00 lb’s = $156.

News Flash! EcoSalon

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

front page

I was recently hired as a freelance blogger for a new eco-blog called EcoSalon.com. At EcoSalon I will be covering artisan, decor and fashion items, similar to the things you find here at Little Willow but with an eco-edge. The thing that sets EcoSalon apart is its authenticity. It’s real people sharing how to live an eco-friendly lifestyle without being preachy or crunchy. For example you can find out how to properly wash a pillow (which I am doing as I write this), where to buy stunning recycled glass carafes made from broken windshields or how to get a healthy high from herbal espresso. I am really excited for this opportunity to contribute to the rainbow of “green” knowledge available to women! Feel free to send me suggestions and if my Editor approves, (yes people I have an Editor now, it’s the big time), we’ll write about it!

for my Dad

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

So my Dad calls me yesterday and says “Lark, you’ve got this website thing, so you know what’s hip and new, and I need a new pen. Can you help me out with that?” This from the Dad who in my opinion was at the forefront of cool growing up. He told us about Cabbage Patch Dolls and Intellivision, he subscribed to People Magazine, he listened to Madonna and when gum in a toothpaste tube came out he ran home to show it to us. He also drove a bright yellow convertible VW Rabbit and loved to take us for rides with all our friends. He’s a man of style and he always carried a fancy pen.

This might be a little hippy dippy but I like these belt buckles by Lucy’s Sister. I think they would make a cute gift for someone or even a neat bridesmaid or groomsman gift if you customize them. $60 dollars each.

candice

Apparently I should be banned from the Solstice Sunglass store since I just bought my 2nd pair of lavish Oliver Peoples sunglasses from them last week. The saleslady need only says things like “handmade”, “one-of-a-kind” and “sunglasses are the only accessory that are actually good for your health” and money pours out of my pocket! I wanted something glamorous this time since my other sunglasses are so sporty. I went with the Candice (above) and I also have the Aero by OP as well (below).

I am need of some new sunglasses since my Kate Spade’s are barely alive. Impressively they have lasted 3 years without me breaking or losing them. 80’s Purple has some great styles and they even have a vintage sunglasses section. They carry most of the top lines including Dior, Dita and the new Tom Ford line with prices ranging from $15 for their own line to over $300 for designer shades.
