tulisan

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

I have been slightly obsessed with these bags from Tulisan ever since seeing them on Design Sponge.  I have been visiting the Indonesian website of Tulisan everyday for the past week trying to decide which one of the limited edition illustrations to choose from.  If this keeps up they’ll be sold out before I get my act together.  Today I’m leaning towards the Siesta Tote in the Sound of Dawn yellow print.  Now I need to pull the trigger because the Summer will be over by the time it ships across the sea!

le souk

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

Dying over these guitar pillows – especially the ones in the Liberty of London print. If you haven’t been to the Le Souk website before, be prepared to find at least a dozen items that you’ll desperately want for yourself or as a gift for someone else.  The baby and kids section had be exclaiming “awww!” to the annoyance of the other folks in the coffee shop, sorry people! Check it out, you’ll see what I mean.

camp cirrus

Monday, April 4th, 2011

It’s finally April and it snowed all day long yesterday.  Looking for a way out of my gray mood this morning I was so glad to find an email from Camp Cirrus in my inbox. The Camp Cirrus line of home accessories with their happy colors and patterns helped restore my faith that Spring is right around the corner. I mean they are from Sweden and if any one knows about never-ending Winters it’s the Swedes! I really dig the laminated birch trays.  Their line of hand printed cotton canvas items includes pretty and practical tote bags, cheery pillows and clever textile jars.  All items are available in the US through the online shop Vitrine.

shamila + shlomit

Monday, March 21st, 2011

I have been procrastinating lately and I apologize, especially since I’ve been keeping two lovely and talented jewelry designers to myself.  Without further adieu I’d like to introduce you to Shlomit Ofir and re-introduce you to Shamila Jiwa who has been a Little Willow favorite since 2007 when she first graced this blog.

Shlomit Ofir is from Tel Aviv, Israel and finds inspiration for her collection of gold and silver jewelry from the simplicity of nature.  You’d never know she has a degree in Industrial Design by the delicate lines of her work.  I like that her pieces aren’t fussy and could be worn everyday. Lucky for you Shlomit is easy to find on Etsy and she has a lot of items to choose from. In fact it was almost impossible for me to decide which images to showcase since she has so many pretty designs!

Then we have Miss Shamila Jiwa. Born in Tanzania and influenced by her passion for travel and her ethnic heritage she constantly astounds me with her beautiful designs.  Her latest collection, “A Thousand and One Nights” includes these custom cut tear-drop earrings of stunning gemstones.  Shamila has a talent for choosing the most eye-catching stones and creating modern shapes that could be worn everyday or for an occasion as special as your wedding day.

**Bonus** Get $50 off an order from Shamila’s website by “liking” her Facebook page and then email her: shamila*at*shamila.com with “Little Willow” as the subject.

bhldn

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

It took me a second too, BHLDN or Beholden has suddenly become my favorite website for party dressing. The idea behind BHLDN is to provide everything in one place that a woman might need to dress for a wedding or special event. The website makes it easy to browse vintage inspired dresses and then layer in the perfect shoe, heirloom quality jewelry, handbags and even pretty lingerie. If I could do my wedding all over again, this is where I would be shopping!

The hubs and I just booked our first trip to the Caribbean in May and I can hardly wait! Which means I am already packing my bags in my mind and imagining filling it with these beachy looks from NYC designer Devon Baer.  She has an Etsy shop filled with her collection of preppy tunics, belts and jewelry. See more from Devon here.

I first heard about Devon in the Australian edition of Ivy & Piper magazine.  Subscribe to their online edition here.

hansel from basel

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

I love wearing tights in Winter and not just because they help keep my tummy sucked in. The design team of Hansel from Basel (cute name), based in Los Angeles where it’s hardly ever cold enough for tights, has somehow mastered the art of making sensible tights look stylish and unique.  Starting at $18 for a pair they are selling like hot cakes so get them while they’re still available!

This bag of theirs is pretty zippy too.
