vintage Florida

My latest style obsession is something called vintage Florida. Think lots of pink and green in bold patterns, faux bamboo, lucite and a peppy mid-60′s vibe.  When I saw this whimsical California bungalow designed by Krista Ewart featured in House Beautiful there wasn’t a thing I didn’t love about it.  Krista did an amazing job mixing vintage pieces (like that turtle garden seat) with contemporary prints from Jonathan Adler (rug) and Hable Construction (on stool and sofa) to give this bungalow a modern feel.

By the way, I have become obsessed with finding that turtle garden seat in front of the fireplace. Luckily there is the amazing vintage-Florida shop Circa Who in West Palm Beach that carries a variety of these garden seats and more.  They are on the hunt for this turtle seat for me.  I highly recommend perusing both Krista’s website and Circa Who’s website if you like this style.

I love that this is called Vintage Florida! Being originally from Florida, it makes me feel like you can create that beachy/preppy feeling even in Chicago! Look at Krista Ewart’s portfolio-she is fantastic and really does a great job of creating unique spaces. As a textile designer, I love how she used so many different patterns in one room without being over the top:) Great post!
