friday giveaway: loren hope designs

Wow! This just might be one of my best giveaways EVER! One lucky lady or gentleman will win this stunning necklace from Loren Hope Designs.  After all, Valentines Day is just around the corner and this would be a lovely surprise for your lady love. Inspired by the vintage jewelry she plundered while playing in her grandmother’s thrift shop as a little girl, Raleigh, NC based designer Loren Barham founded Loren Hope Designs in 2005.  Her love of color and vintage construction are obvious in this fabulous statement piece, the Peyton Bib Necklace.

Here’s how you can enter to win:  Leave a comment telling me where you would wear this beautiful handcrafted necklace? You have until Monday night to enter and Loren will choose the lucky winner. I will announce the winner Tuesday morning.

I would wear it to the All-In Ball a fabulous benefit to help raise money to support my friend Tyler, who by the way would look amazing in this necklace.

And the winner is….Maglie!

Wow, what a beautiful piece… and my favorite color, too! I would wear this beauty as a statement piece to business meetings. I am a graphic designer and in just two short weeks I’ll be embarking on the quest to work for myself; a piece like this would show my clients that I’m confident AND creative.

  3. Liz Says:

I would wear it to work or anywhere since it would be the only piece of jewelry that I own now that ALL of my jewelry except one necklace & two bracelets was stolen yesterday. It’s a beautiful piece & I would be honored to restart my jewelry collection with something so stunning.

  4. Paula Says:

If I were to win this necklace I would personally drive it over to Tyler and give it to her to wear for to the All-In-Ball Benefit. I am hoping she will be able to be there and as you said…she WOULD look great in it!

  5. Tory Stewart Says:

If I won this gorgeous piece I would wear it to work for sure. While I happily go along with the typical shades of film post-production attire (read: grey tones), I’m always looking for bright beautiful accents that convey exuberance and style. I would also wear it every time I went home to San Francisco and breakfasted at Tartine, where I think the unfailing beautiful light would serve it well (not to mention the turquoise would complement the bread pudding nicely http://tinyurl.com/ydv7nsf)

  6. Kay Frier Says:

I would wear this stunning piece of jewelry to lunch with my girlfriends. We meet once a month to catch up and giggle ourselves silly. Living in the southwest, I have loads of turquoise, but this piece is truly one of a kind.

  7. KP Says:

This bold necklace struck a chord with me right away, representing the bold decision I made a few months ago to leave a bad marriage. I would wear this necklace confidently and proudly, embarking on a new life as a strong, independent lady (forgive me for sounding like a Destiny’s Child song). I would even wear it to divorce court to show my ex just what he was missing!

  8. Shelly Says:

I would wear the fabulous piece to work, to brunch with my girlfriends, to church, to dinner with my boyfriend, to the grocery store and to run errands! I would wear it wherever I could!

  9. Erin Says:

I think I could wear this every single day, everywhere I went. It matches 90% of my wardrobe! I’d love to wear it to spice up a t-shirt and jeans or a simple summer dress! GREAT giveaway! :)

  10. Diane Says:

I would happily wear this necklace with a big smile.

  11. BKM Says:

Well, should I be lucky to win something like THIS – I will put it on and a looong dreary gray winters day will be, for a moment, swept away to a tropical clime/an afternoon ocean sail/sun on salted skin/white linen dress. Ahhhhhh. And to snap me back to it, my very inquisitive 15 month old little peep will point and lilt a magical “ooo-OOOO-oooooh!” And for that sound alone, I would wear it ’round the clock!

  12. Kelli Says:

I love this necklace! I think it would be hard to take off, but I would wear it to pick up my little girl from preschool so I could hear her say “is that your new bracelet (every piece of jewlery is a bracelet) mama? I love it!” And I would use this piece of jewlery as an excuse to get a sitter to go on a date with my husband. Maybe even a Valentines date?!

  13. Kenya F Says:

WOW! It’s gorgeous! I just got engaged & I would love to wear this beautiful necklace for our engagement photo shoot. Thanks for a great giveaway & good luck to all! :-)

  14. Emily Says:

No place special to wear this, but as I am accessorizing more lately, I’d probably wear it with a nice black top or dress the next time I go out to the movies. Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. Tracy Says:

Although I love the necklace, if I won, I’d have to gift it to my mom. Her and I were just perusing your blog (so she could see pix of the nursery…gorgeous) and she fell in love being the style maven and accessory queen she is… Too bad her bday just passed and Mother’s Day is far away. Then again, she’s a mom so she deserves a beautiful present for no real reason at all. And, maybe she’d let me borrow it. :)

  16. Byron J2 Says:

If I win this great giveaway I would give it to my lovely girlfriend so she can wear it on a great date I have plan for her for Valentine’s day!

  17. Sarah M Says:

Oooh, this is beautiful and I would love to wear it….but….how could I not give it to my Mum? She has SpinoCerebellar Ataxia, which blew her speech and co-ordination to pieces. She took up Egyptian dancing to help herself physically and rebuild her confidence. Some of the jewelry she wears for it has crossed over into the rest of her life too, maybe carrying a bit of that confidence with them. I can just imagine the movement and sound of this piece; it would look so beautiful on her, she would light up and glow wearing this! But then again, who wouldn’t? :o )

  18. Maglie Says:

My husband and I are planning a trip to Greece this summer. I can see myself in Crete, lounging in the evening sun, next to one of those amazing white buildings with a white cotton dress and this beautiful necklace. I would fit right in to the surroundings!

  19. Shana Says:

In 2010 I plan to sparkle… I have a long way to go… I am planning a renaissance of sorts. I have been doing for others for way too long, it is time to do for myself. I am losing weight, which has now become a needed change, not just a task to improve my looks. I am going to start dating again, start enjyoing the outdoors with my son, traveling, everything I have been avoiding. I will chip away at this protective and confining shell that I have created to reveal the stylish, sexy woman that I once was. This necklace would be a gift to myself, reminding me to live MY life. I too may wear it while I dance into divorce court with the song “I will survive” blaring in my head. I can figure out the soundtrack later, but it would be honor to wear this to help me and remind me to sparkle.

  20. Jennifer Wilton Says:

This necklace is so stunning that it would create the occasion to be worn. I find myself imagining the adventures I would invite just to wear it.

  21. Molly Says:

If I won this necklace, I would love to wear it but instead would donate it to an artisans’ auction to raise money for a local preschool. I think it would have many admirers (myself included) and would help the preschool meet its fundraising goal!

  22. Heather S Says:

I would wear that beauty to the Pacific Northwest Ballet performance my daughter and I are attending for her 6th birthday coming up! It would be a lovely addition to my dress! Cheers!

  23. Sarah Says:

I can’t believe I screwed up and didn’t submit on time- I was out of town yet dreaming of this necklace all weekend!

I love the bib necklace style- which in a quirky way reminds me of the decadent foods one eats while wearing a bib at a kitchy restaurant- lobster rolls, saucy ribs, etc. How fun would be to wear this bib at a Maine lobster restaurant?
