Holly Farrell, one of my absolute favorite artists, just sent me an email about her upcoming show in Tokyo and new available works. I’ve written about Holly in the past and I am still moved by the sense of a life that comes out of her still-life paintings. These slippers remind me of visiting my grandmother’s closet to explore her collection of dainty slippers. Of course by the time I was eight they were already too small for me but they hinted at this glamorous life that she lived when she wasn’t grandma. Holly’s paintings give me that same tangible sense of the lives behind these objects and leave me wanting to know more.
