I would marry these lamps that’s how much I love them. Another fabulous Bodie and Frou find. Made by textile artist and ceramic designer Flavia Del Pra you can see the influence of her Brazilian roots in the colors and patterns. Each lamp is one of a kind, so it’s kinda of like a collectors item, so $450 is totally justifiable!

My new favorite website for home design inspiration is the UK based Bodie and Frou. They have some incredible designers like Love is Blind, a product designer Patrick Laing and fashion textile designer Abi Williams who paired up to make these fantastic graphic roller blinds. I think they’d be perfect in a small city apartment kitchen.

Butterfly cake stand

bird cuptoast

I know I said I was going to take a break from any and all bird designs but then I saw these gorgeous handmade ceramics by artist Polly George. Only available in white with hand applied roses, butterflies or birds, they look delicate but can be used everyday. You can send her an email to purchase or buy online from a limited supply at 2Jane.

Kartell basket tableKartell Lighting

I wish I had the courage to go hog wild and decorate the house completely modern but I don’t know if I could live with it for very long, plus the hubs would hate it. If he had his way the house would be an ode to his Irish heritage with lots of wool, Celtic symbols and plaques with Irish ditties. Anyway back to the reason for this post…I really like these modern tables and lamps by Kartell Panier all made of polyethylene, which you can purchase online at Unica Home.

Sigg polka dotsSigg stripe

Ever since I heard the rumor that plastic water bottles left in hot cars can release toxins into the water that may cause cancer I’m paranoid about drinking from the stash in my trunk. The simple and best solution if you are an avid H2O drinker like myself, is an aluminum coated bottle like these spiffy versions from Sigg. The Lifestyle collection comes in lots of designs which appeals to my sense of style plus they are eco-friendly and re-usable which appeals to my eco-conscience.

Prints by Edmund Dulac a French book illustrator from the early 20th Century who created artwork for the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales. Love the Princess and the Pea illustration. You can find his work as well as many others at Artsy Crafty for around $80 dollars.

Princess and the Pea

Fabulous fishy prints by the graphic design/illustration duo over at Sub-Studio, based in NYC. They make silk-screened cards and prints in limited editions. I like this grouping from their Lure Series. Priced in my wheel-house at around $30.

jackie onassis

I saw this picture of Jackie at a museum recently and it led me on a Google image hunt of photos of her. I think of all her styles I loved her Greek, Onassis period the best. I found these Bernardo sandals which would be the perfect place to start if you wanted to channel a little Jackie O. Legend has it she owned a pair of their Miami style in every color. You can purchase directly from Bernardo or Piperlime, my new favorite online shoe site.

I am really in love with these prints by artist and new Mom, Amanda Kavanagh. She creates a new print or painting weekly and puts them up for sale. I really like her subdued palette and the spareness of her landscapes and at $30 a print, I will be forced to purchase one for my mini-art collection.
