I am contemplating using wallpaper in our small guest bathroom and thanks to the sister-in-law team at ModGreenPod I can wallpaper in style while being good to the earth. ModGreenPod’s 100% organic fabrics and non-toxic wallpapersare gaining in popularity in the inconvenient truth world we live in these days. I’m a believer that if everyone made small changes in the way they live, whether its with planet friendly fabric or composting your dinner scraps or buying a Prius it will make a difference. It’s hard for me to decide which pattern I like the best, but I’m leaning towards the Butterfly Jubilee in cherry/stilton.

I have no business coveting anything from the Spring 2007 Bottega Veneta line but God it’s stunning! Sad that clothing gets me this excited, but see for yourself. Incredibly rich fabric, beautiful draping and flattering shapes, ooh I love! Net-a-Porter carries a few items from the Spring line, if you have a spare $2,000 spend it on a luscious dress.

stewart brown cotton dressst

While getting a much needed pedicure today I was reading the April issue of Town & Country and saw this lovely cornflower blue hemp dress by Stewart Brown. I did a search and found they have a complete line of earth friendly clothing and being that’s it’s Earth Month I thought I’d mention them. Their products are made from 100% cotton, hemp-silk and Mongolian cashmere and they give 1% of each sale to the One Percent for the Planet organization. Being that it’s for a good cause, this is shopping I can justify!

My Rebe has some new items! Cute dresses, cozy sweatshirts and flouncy skirts with many of the fabrics coming from France, Australia, and Japan. Also, the sweathsirts and sweaters are all made from recycled fiber and/or organic cotton so they are extra cozy and environmentally friendly. I still want one of their handbags made of vintage fabrics, but I’m waiting to go to LA and pick one out in person.

fairies

I’ll admit it, I still believe in fairies and have been buying art of fairies for our (fingers crossed) baby room. Paulina Stuckey-Cassidy is a very imaginative, (well you’d have to be if your art is fairies) artist with a huge selection of prints which you can easily buy from her website. Careful though I have already bought 5 of them!

I think my love of fairies began with one of the best picture books from my childhood, Fairies. I remember being scared to open the book because the images seemed so real but I couldn’t resist the mystery and beauty of the fairies. Kristen, my friend from San Diego is also a believer and gave me one of my favorite fairy prints called “Bubble Rider”, thanks KB!

50’s kitchen

So we have a 50’s ranch house and I have this fantasy of remodeling the kitchen with a 50’s theme, much to the hubs chagrine (he thinks it would hurt the resale value). This may be partly because I started reading the amazing magazine Atomic Ranch for mid-century home owners and they had an ad for these candy colored 50’s style appliances by Elmira Stove Works. They carry refrigerators, ranges, hoods and dishwasher faces. I like the idea of something that looks old but is completely modern and new, plus it would just be fun to have that much color in your kitchen.

It’s a baby boom around here! My 2 co-workers, several friends and my sister Britt are all with child and most of them are having baby girls, oh joy! I came across these adorable stuffed bunnies made of soft vintage cotton hand embroidered by Eva of Apple & Eve. She lives in Germany, so it has to travel the world to your doorstep, which makes this unique baby gift that much cooler. Check her out on Etsy!

I am need of some new sunglasses since my Kate Spade’s are barely alive. Impressively they have lasted 3 years without me breaking or losing them. 80’s Purple has some great styles and they even have a vintage sunglasses section. They carry most of the top lines including Dior, Dita and the new Tom Ford line with prices ranging from $15 for their own line to over $300 for designer shades.

I’ve been in a starburst mirror phase for the last few months, eventually buying one for over the fireplace (the bottom right starburst).  I like the retro look of the one I purchased but I am still not completely sure I bought the right one, oh indecisiveness!  Here are some other great options from Neiman Marcus Home.
